The Design Process
Based in Royal Tunbridge Wells, we provide a full range of bespoke design services to transform any garden space.
Whether you're simply looking for some horticultural advice for your garden or wanting to transform your existing space into your dream garden, at Chris Wild Garden Design we have over 15 years horticultural and design experience to help make your vison a reality.
Consultation
The garden consultation is one of the most important stages of the design process. We will have the opportunity to discuss your requirements for the space, your preferred design style, themes, colour pallets, and any budgets you have to work with. The purpose of this phase is to ensure that we are working towards a shared vision of the space that is not only achievable but within the expectations of a brief.
Survey
When we have agreed a brief for the design, a full site survey will be conducted. A topographical survey will be taken of the landforms of the plot, existing plants and trees, buildings and structures and utilities to produce a scaled base plan. Soil samples and aspect will also be assessed in order to provide the best planting and design options later in the process.
Concept
Conceptual designs provide the first opportunity to present our vison for the space based on your brief. This is presented through a combination of 2D drawings, elevation sketches and mood boards, which help to build a sense of what the finished garden could look like. A second consultation offers the chance to collaborate and ensure the shared vison is achieved. Any alterations can be made to the design, as well as decisions taken about which materials and finishes to include.
Master Plan
All of the elements of the design process culminate to present your final plan for the garden and help you visualize the finished article. Scale-drawn and offered in full colour, the master plan offers a highly detailed overview of the garden and design elements. Additional planting plans, construction plans and elevation drawings provide further detail to ensure that the design is accurately implemented into the garden build.
Build
We aim to ensure that the shared vison and plan of the garden created at the design stage achieves its full potential during construction. We offer project coordination and will work with third party contractors to make sure plans are implemented effectively.
We work closely in partnership with Trenton Landscapes, who have over 20 years expert experience in garden installation, and together we have a trusted working partnership to help make your dream garden reality.
